In the interests of time and space, we will let Val Murah describe his latest project, and the most recent Kikapu release, for us:
"Strange this will be an intro for a lot of people, because it's more of a farewell to a personal era. Long story short, I put out Music 4 Lemons in the beginning of 2009 and I felt like I was completely done with electronic music at that point. I'd gone through a lot of time and scrapped albums and in the end it still felt hugely disappointing for me. My waning interest was probably also coupled with the near non-existence of an audience.
This is a compilation album (key being that itâs still meant to play like an album and not just a bunch of songs) comprised of ambient and minimal electronic tracks that spans my first through to my last, all mixed together into one long track. This is both a goodbye and a greeting. I am happy to be currently working on new material again and it couldn't feel any more natural."
Val Murah's music consists of beautiful washes of synth-laden ambiences and drones, and is deceptively simple at times, lulling the listener into a false sense of, for lack of a better term, security. This album has been a constant element of the background here at Kikapu headquarters for the past few months, becoming our winter soundtrack, and we couldn't be happier than to share this piece with you now.
